OUR Com-4-Lock® WOOL
WORKS IN THE COLDEST WEATHER
For cold, we have developed the most comfortable, silent wool camouflage material in existence truly the ultimate. No fiber, natural or man-made, compares to wool and we use only the finest wool. We spin the longest fibers of top-grade 100% virgin fleece into a soft, strong two-ply worsted yarn, then weave that yarn into the exclusive four-layer, interlocking baffle weave material we call Comf-4-Lock®. The result: a fabric which is tough yet soft and supple, warm yet water-resistant and breathable in a word, comfortable. Comf-4-Lock® wool, combined with the practical and functional designs employed in our Mountain Hunter and Sheep Mountain clothing, results in gear of unsurpassed
quality and performance. Mountain Hunter and Sheep Mountain gear provide superior insulation in snow, wind and cold, and sheds water while remaining breathable. Our gear is durable enough to withstand the rigors of field use without the weight and bulk penalties that are the downfall of so many types of hunting clothing.
A truly effective camouflage
Our scientifically designed camouflage pattern and colors provide maximum concealment in any season or terrain. Our low-contrast camo pattern moves naturally from light to dark elements. The woven-in pattern produces a softly blended edge of color rather than a sharp, unnatural line. Many animals readily recognize variations in contrast, and their attention is drawn toward abrupt changes. Our low-contrast camo is difficult for them to see. In addition our soft-edged Tru-Camo® design uses predominantly horizontal elements, effectively eliminating hard vertical lines that can hold an animal's attention. You blend inconspicuously into the background and even small movements will go
undetected. Finally, wool is a naturally quiet fabric. You will never again be shiny and noisy in the field.
OUR TRAILMASTER COTTON
WORKS IN THE WARMEST WEATHER
Our cotton gear is 100% homegrown, cut and sewn in the USA We use two fabrics. Our rugged 10 oz. brushed cotton twill is tough enough for the field, yet soft enough to be extremely quiet and comfortable and is great for mild-to-moderate conditions. And for those really hot days, our ultra-light 7 oz. cotton fabric is ideal.

Why do the companies making "costume" camouflage keep adding more patterns and more colors to their lines? It's because hunters are discovering that their "Mossy Bush" doesn't work in a cornfield and their "RealBark" falls flat above timberline. So how can hunters using Sleeping Indian Designs' gear be so successful when we have one exclusive pattern and two color schemes? For years, cold-climate hunters have known the answer. Sleeping Indian's Tru-Camo® works because it makes you look like nothing rather than costuming you to look like something. If your "Cactus Patch" is "so real it looks like a photograph" then how well camouflaged will you be in an aspen grove? Tru-Camo® doesn't limit you to one location or season.
EFFECTIVE LAYERING
with wool and cotton
If you are always warm when sitting in subzero temperatures, if wind-chill never bothers you, if you are comfortable in freezing weather wearing just a single layer of clothing, then read no further. If you've never been miserable on a day so hot you could fry an egg on a rock, we have nothing to teach you. But if you've ever been too cold, too warm, or just plain uncomfortable outdoors, please read on. Our customers remain comfortable in the worst conditions while wearing fewer layers due to the superior insulating qualities of our Comf-4-Lock® wool or the moisture-retaining qualities of our Trailmaster Cotton combined with an effective layering system.
Compare Comf-4-Lock® wool to the insulation in a house. Turn on the air-conditioning in a well-insulated house and it stays cool. Turn on the heat and it stays warm. Comf-4-Lock® insulates in exactly the same way. Instead of adjusting the thermostat, however, you wear different types of long johns. At 90°, perspiration next to your skin is your best friend, when it's 32° or colder, it becomes your worst enemy. You lose your body heat up to nine times faster when your skin is wet than when it is dry. Remember, wet skin/fabric keeps you cooler in warm weather and dry skin/fabric keeps you warmer when it is cold. Staying comfortable means properly regulating your perspiration depending on the temperature range and your activity level. Check the chart below for more details.
